Default HELP - DVB-C on PC - Problems galore!

Hi all - I really, really hope somebody can help me out here. I'm trying to setup my Technotrend C-1500 here and am just running into issues and I don't know whether it's my cabling, my hardware, my software, etc that is causing it.

I've installed the Technotrend card, installed drivers, etc... I presume that it's okay now.

I also have just run a 25 metre coaxial cable going from the Virgin Media point near the TV downstairs, going upstairs to my PC. I have included a splitter so that the set top box downstairs still receives signal (and it does, so I presume it's not my cabling that's the problem). I have attached CT100 F Plugs to either end of the cable, ran it through the ceiling and walls and put an F to Aerial plug on the end going to my PC.

I have tried various software and none of them are picking up a signal - it is really frustrating! I've tried some of the various brute force ini's around here too but to no avail.

DVBViewer detects the hardware, put picks up nothing on scan.
MyTheatre detects the hardware too, but picks up nothing on scan.
ProgDVB *appears* to detect hardware but again picks up nothing.
ALT-DVB detects hardware but on signal test shows no signal for any transponder scanned.

I also have a BDA DVB-T tuner installed which works brilliantly with DVB TV Web Scheduler.

Does anyone have any first steps I should try? Ideally what I need is for somebody to hold my hand. What is frustrating for me is that this sort of thing is usually simple for me but I just can't seem to work it.

I live in the Manchester M33 area, I don't know if that is any use to anybody.

Thanks in advance - trust me, it will be appreciated!

What is the default transponder frequency for my area? I have looked all over for a list and have found nothing. What do I change the symbol rate to?

Sorry - there's just such a lack of step-by-step guides for this on the web, I need all the help I can get!

I've done it as said in the PDF you attached but I still get this message:

Sort Tranponders by Polarization and Band...
1tp - Cab(400) 747000 6887: NO SIGNAL

*** Scan done ***

Oooh - getting somewhere!

I tried Manchester 2 NTL/EX C&W, 41060 666750 6952 and I found 32 channels... at least I know it's not my wiring or hardware!

Next step is... finding the rest!

Got any advice on what other frequencies and things to scan?

That's a few of the BBC Channels there. Looking good now. These ones called DL17, etc - are those encrypted channels or radio channels?

Any idea where I might find a list with all this information on to try and scan all frequencies, and how I might get them in DVBViewer instead?

Thanks for your help so far!
