Default Starview 4 Glitches (?)

Hi,

I've recently installed a new Starview 4 and am quite happy with it. Easy set up, and easy config. I'm based in the English midlands and am connected directly to enn tee ell with no splitter; running Beta v1.02. There are a handful of glitches though and I'm hoping someone here can help me out.

1. Some channels have no sound.
2. Some channels (ITV4 for example) just give beeps and squeals on the sound.
3. Most channels have what I would call "banding" on the image - a bit like the old 1960's 405 line transmissions - if you've ever watched any old Hancock DVDs you'll know what I mean.
4. Watching one of the S*y M*vie channels tonight, the Comedy one- Ben Stiller in the Museum film - I got Audio Description for blind folk.
5. Some channels are badged incorrectly for example ITV1 thinks it's ITV1 Ulster and BBC2 bears an Ulster badge too. Have I loaded an irish version of the softwware?

BTW for "security" purposes should I be running through a splitter with my original enn tee ell box on one leg and my Starview on the other?

Alot of questions I know, but I got to start somewhere.

Cheers,

K

for sound issues press the audio button and you'll get a choice of audios. Press OK on the right option.

Thanks dten. I sorted out the "banding" too. Just the wrong settings for my TV.

Can you/anyone offer an opinion on the desirability of wiring up through a splitter?
