I've seen this asked on various other forums - but most of the replys have been from up-themselves people who are ignorant to technical detail.
Is there anyway to get a transport stream from the V+ box to my PC? Ideally I don't want to convert to DVD as I don't see the point in recompressing streams and I don't want to do a digital>analogue>digital capture through an analogue capture card for loss of quality (I am a bit of a quality maniac). I just want pure digital broadcast quality which hasn't been tampered with. I'm guessing the eSATA and USB ports on the V+ box are disabled. Is it a case of removing the hard drive from the system and connecting it to my PC? Obviously this wouldn't be convenient though. If anyone can suggest anything I would greatly appreciate it. Am currently recording things via DVB-C, but it is not ideal having to update keys all the time (and of course not being able to record things when I'm out due to a key change - defeats the purpose) so am thinking about investing in a V+ box, but I want to be able to record transport streams like I currently do. I already pay Virgin about £100 a month so I think I should be able to get my money's worth. ![]() Thanks Last edited by samf88; 25-11-08 at 01:23 PM. |
