hi lads i have dreambox 500 s i need some one to help me with setting .i have motorised dish. and i dont know where to start. as i have put everything together but it dont show the channel ,

We need to know a bit more.
Which image do you have installed?
Have you setup the sat positions and have you scanned the satellites to get the channels installed?
Have you downloaded and installed an emu? I suggest CCcam 2.10
Have you installed the latest keys?

i dont know about the image but i scanned the channels got lods of them but i can only watch few of them means 3 or 4 , and i cannot motorised it i dont know why , and where shall i download the image from and what image , keys no, help please how do i install it , because am new to this

You need to have a good read of the forum. Start with how to set-up a motorised dish. And then read up on dreamboxes. You sound like you have tried to run befoe you could walk. What prompted you to purchase all this kit?

mustango, the Nabilo maxvar image is in the downloads and you can get it there. IMHO is is the best image for the enigma1 boxes. Install the image using Dreamup serial connection and if you have an internet connection to your Dreambox, all the emus and plugins are available via the image.

You will need to setup the box IP, language and timezone and select the satellite setup as a motorised dish. You then select the sats you can get line of sight on and do the satellite setup. Have a read of the manual for the means of setting it up. The manuals that are downloadable from DMM are far better than the paper they issue with the box.

Just in case the box you have is not a genuine, dont try to install a Gemini image otherwise you will have problems. The image that is already installed is possibly an original DMM image which does not have the options for some emus and decryption.

The sequence is, get the free to air channels and then add the emu and keys to see what else you can get.

Try googling "Nabilosat" you'll be surprised to see its usually the first result

If your wanting to use a motorised dish the 500 is the wrong receiver to use. They are notorious for not having enough power to move the dish

Mine lasted all of 2 months before i got shut of it. Save your money and buy a DM600PVR its a much better investment if your using a motor
