Default Number of satellite dishes permitted

I am interested in beginning a Sky subscription. However, I already have an 80cm dish picking up Hotbird 13e and a TV antenna on the property.

I have checked the "householders planning guide" sticky but am unsure of the definition of an antenna - does it include both TV antennae and satellite dishes?

If so, due to the limit of two antennae per property, am I right to think that I will be unable to add a further dish (for Sky) without planning permission?

Hi,

I'm not 100% sure on this but I believe that the TV aerial is not included.

Besides, if no-one complains, you can have what you want.

No one is going to complain about a TV aerial, and a max 1m dish + a 60cm dish does not need permission.

Also, on a 90cm fixed dish, and possibly an 80cm, you can have LNBs for 28E and 13E anyway, so you don't really need two dishes.

I regularly see house with 4+ dishes on the front. Seems not many people complain.

Thanks for the replies.

How would I go about fitting two LNBs and are there special types for this?

No, they are just ordinary LNBs, you just need a means of holding the offset one, this is usually done either with a bracket tailored for a specific make of dish, or a universal one.

With 13e and 28e on the same 80cm dish, you would probably not want to focus on 13E though, as it would push 28e far too far over.
Focusing somewhere around 19.2E should do it.
