i got a chipped modem it came up tcp/ip properties as use the following ip it was manually configured i dont know what i done but now its automaticly getting the ip is there anyway to restore the settings so it works any help much appreciated

Sounds like you mean a windows problem!
Go to network connections (Start > Control Panel > Network Connections) you should see your connection, right click it and select properties. You will now see a new window, in this window select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and then click the properties button. In this window simply select all the radio buttons to obtain automatically. I hope this is what you mean; otherwise further explanation is needed... |

if i set it to do it automaticly it takes me to a register pade with vm but i did have it manually set up and i dont know if there a way to reset the modem to get it as bk to tthe way i purchashed the box

You should set it to automiatic, if you are now getting the registration page it means the MAC is incorrect for your area or is now invalid and you need to flash a new MAC for your area. If you look round the forums you will be able to find information on how to do this.
