Default Manual Key Entry (Don't Work)

Ok we know that you can get the latest keys, but when yer get em and do it manualy (either KV or Eurovox's) then they just don't work cos has soon has you enter them in they flick back to dif keys, so yer can't manualy eneter keys on KV's OR Eurovoxe's, ok I'm not going to discuss how yer get to manualy enter keys on KV cos that's a touchy debate But those who do know the code to Manualy do it on KV, then yer will find out that yer cant do it, so looks like we gonna have to wait for a permenant fix, hopefully it won't be too long cos when they zapped all boxes in April, a fix for KV's was out 1 day later so we just gtta be patient and wait for a permenant fix or wait to see if someone can get round to inserting keys manualy!

hi mate, yeah i hear this is the case, i didnt dare ,ess about with my codes, as you say its a touchy subject for some reason....but i gave the codes to a eurovox user and it works fine now......very strange!!

i dont want 2 annoy the regular users on here as they are ultimatly the ones who will help the dumb ones like myself!!!

but hopefully somebody can give us some info into the technical side of things so we can understand whats happening

Hi. I entered the keys manually and was chuffed to bits when i got my channels back. By the time id got back from making a coffee, it was back to the "Waiting for code update" message. I went back to the keys menu and 4 of the digits from both keys had been changed back. I re-entered keys and got the channels back and watched to see what happened. The green dot on the kryptview display on the left of the numbers flashed and my screen froze then went back to "Waiting for code update". I went back to the keys screen and again, 4 digits had been changed. Im not up on how the majority of this works but i assume that theres a constant code being sent out that changes your keys back if they dont match. So imo, manually changing the keys doesnt appear to work neither. I'll stick a dvd on.

spot on, yer enter correct codes and yep back on, but only for about 1 minute then back to waiting for code update.
done me eurovox and it's staying on, been on over an hour and all ok with euro But will have changed codes 2morrow no doubt, so gonna sit tight and just wait for a permenant fix from the experts.
AJ

Just to clarify jambutty, does it appear that the only box that is totaled, is the kryptview and that manual key entry works on the others?

I have so far manualy entered the keys in a Eurovox & Starview box 3 and they work, as I said I tried with KV and it don't work for some reason, when you enter the keys they quickly change back to the old ones, so looks like we may have to wait for a permenant fix on KV's.
AJ.

ps on an earlier posting I mentioned that it didn't work on Eurovox but I must have entered wrong keys cos I had another go last night and it worked.
