Temporary DREAMBOX 500c Fix

Hi guys

I understand there is a temporary key fix out for some boxes hit by the latest key roll, however I cannot find any such solution for the Dreambox 500c. Can any1 help out?

DREAMBOX STBs

Just got this from Zeus over at Dreambox Magic
Emergency Key Change
1. Press Yellow
2. Select Tuxbox Commander
3. Press down arrow (9 Times) until you highlight "var" in LEFT window.
4. Press OK
5. Press down arrow (3 Times) until you highlight "keys"
6. Press OK
7. Press down arrow (4 Times) until you highlight "Keylist.txt"
8. Press 4 (to edit the file)
9. You will now see the keylist. First line beginning with 00 needs to be changed slightly. The sequence 00 F57*****D352D**** (You will not see any * but they will be number do not touch them)
10. Press OK to select the line to edit.
11. Press Right arrow 19 times to you highlight the "5" and change it to an "F" by pressing "3" until your get "F"
12. Press OK to make the change.
13. Press Exit
14. Press Red (to save changes)
15. Press Exit
16. Press Red (to save changes)
17. Press Exit
18. Now that’s done lets restart Evocam – Press Blue Button
19. Press OK
20. Done

Hey Honcho, thanks for the reply/Fix, I just got my Dreambox goin again by downloading the new ROM 7 bin from the BIGMAQ toolbar..Its a simple fix..FTP the ROM7 TO your Dreambox Var/Keys folder, then delete the ROM10 & ROM11 Files, Reboot ur box and voila..sorted. Not sure wether this is just a temporary fix?? Thanks again Honcho

Hi Folks, pretty new to all this so whem my dreambox 500C went down I didn't have a clue?
I've tried to get into the box with the fix supplied by "Honcho" but when I press the yellow button, it just takes me into the Audio menu. What am I doing wrong.

Pretty new to this meself m8..I actually have the Envision 500C which is a Dreambox clone running with DW2 Image. My yellow button takes me to plug-ins folder with Tuxbox etc..What image are you using? Can you FTP to your box?

Thanks, at this moment in time I can't FTP the box, I'm trying to find the IP of my router. I used to "fix" the old Sagem & Nokia boxes, But I've decided to get a dreambox. It's worked great for over a year now, but I became too complacent and I don't have a clue??

I've tried FTPing the box as follows

Server or URL 192.168.0.201
User Name Root
Password Dreambox

But I get timeouts with FlashFTP.

What am I doing Wrong???????

try using dreambox control centre to FTP the rom7 file

Can anyone recommend somewhere I can access dreambox images etc?

tried digitalworldz new image,they say not to do an erase flash when you put the image on the box.prob is now i cant do a service scan.yet people say it works so god knows what they are doing that i cant as i cant even find service scan at all in any menu so all i see is loads of chanels listed but,cos i aint done service scan i cant get their transponders or the channel.
