Hey guys
More than likely a silly question, but here goes: We have just moved into a new place, so we have no landline and therefore no standard broadband through the phone line. I do have a USB dongle from 3 for my laptop. Is there anyway in which the internet received via my USB dongle can be used to get Xbox live? Does anyone know if this is even possible? Thanks for any help |

There is a chance that you could do this by "sharing" the internet connection with your ethernet adapter (if you have one) then assigning a Dynamic IP address to both the computer and the XBox. Once you have done this, do the Live test on the console and see how you get on. If you need any more assistance, send me a PM - including your e-mail address - and I will be glad to help

I don't understand your message sexyvic? He can access the service with his connection but as Mortmaru said, he will get charged more and there will be lots of lag.

I managed to connect to Xbox Live through my 3G 02 USB dongle. Was a bit tricky to set up but I got there eventually.
So far I've been playing FIFA 09 with no lag issues, havent tried any more bandwidth intensive games such as COD 4 and Gears 2 yet though. Checking my download log hasnt used up a tremendous amount of data. I didnt think I'd be able to get it to work at all and Im only using this as a stopgap until I get my landline installed, but I've been pleasantly surprised at how well it works so far. I can email you the instructions I used if you'd like. Please Note: The instructions I have are for Vista only, not sure if XP works the same way. Last edited by adrian3221; 21-01-09 at 07:26 PM.
