I used to have the IBM micro. I really miss that one, it was very handy and a battery lasted a while. Only problem was it was so primative, couldn't even view jpg's on it.
Now I have a Sony PCG-U1 and my wife has a PCG-U2. Goes through a battery pretty fast and the keyboard is too small to be really very usefull as a laptop. I use it for my laptop/photo storage during business trips. All of these were Japan only market, but you can find them in the US. I got all mine in Japan. |

Very nice... I dont' quite have those kinda bucks. I got mine used at a Japanese pawn shops. The IBM, I actually built from 2 broken ones. I also bought even smaller micros' but I never got them to convert to english so I never really used them.

Best chance to get one in the states is do a search on ebay.
I got mine in Japan. The were a Japan only laptop. When new, they ran for around $2000. I got both of mine for $650 each used back in 03. My wifes is actually a little nicer. I did a dual OS install, so they can still start up in the Japanese XP. I use to take alot of pictures as a hobby and I wanted something I could download to on the go. Since then I started using it as a laptop for business trips. It is funny, cause now, when I travel, I carry a external CDR burner, a external DVD player, a external floppy drive, and two 80 gig external hard drives. Plus all the regular stuff like soft keyboard, laser mouse, etc. It all fits in a large laptop case. A regular laptop would take up less room. If I only want the Sony and a few things, it fits in a Portable DVD player case. |
