New Application: Auto FTP Key Updates to your box

I have written an application, available from the downloads in the Private FTA area.
UK Cable forum / Private FTA / Sticky: Some download links / d-box Link -> file: Auto FTP Key Updates


It grabs updates the same as the Keymaster app, but also writes out the Softcam.key and Keylist.txt files in the /var/keys folder, and will then ftp these to your box. All you need to do is reboot afterwards. Remember to turn off auto updates for your camd.

TURN OFF AUTO UPDATES AND MAKE SURE KEYS ARE IN VAR/KEYS:
In the var/keys folder edit the configuration files below

camd_cfg (evocamd)
mg_cfg (mgcamd)
gbox_cfg (gbox)

and find the A: entry and change it to read
A:{00}
and find the T: entry and change it to read
T:{00}

THEN REBOOT BOX, DONT WANT IT UPDATEING NEW KEYS, BEFORE PROCEEDING

Confirmed Working on:
Pure NTL - Blade Quad, Lincsat 7.1 beta
CW - Blade, Cableferret 1.6, new lakys-sylas
TW - lakys-sylas, Sportster 1.72

UPDATE
1. If you could not PING your box, then this probably won't work (It will still write the keys to a file though).
2. This app cannot determine if you have setup the appropriate networking values, or set the correct ip addresses, user name or passwords. It can only work with what you give it.
3. If you don't know what area you are in why not try each one, followed by a reboot. It might be one of the five! (and only take 5 minutes).
4. On Commando images I believe the password is commando, but try dbox or dbox2
5. User name is nearly always root.

got blade image, won't take new keys (or they just aren't working), and still only got the free to air ones.

ta anyhoo though, and if you can think of anything that might do the trick...give me a shout! ta

Yeah I can't find it either and I've sorted the files on there by date, do you have the file name ?

EDIT: Actually, scratch that, I found it, I won't post the fn in case the uploader doesn't want anybody to, but look for one posted today and featuring the word AUTO and you won't go far wrong.

It's got a really nice frontend, I'm just testing it now.

first do you need the keymaster.exe application running first, yes or no......

if so i ant got it running i ant got sp installed to get it running.........

i have unzipped you application and it nice well done one programmer to another it grate work.......

Is it possable for you to get the current keys from somewere else,where the keymarster dosent need to be present.......

what image does it work with, i use sportstar will it work .......

please help mate..........

i am sure javascipt can scrape the keys instead off using the keymarster...........

You don't need keymaster, this does everything - you have clicked the "Get latest keys please" button haven't you?

those who cant find it heres the help, its in dbox folder in the downloads fifth from the top after opening the dbox folder.

just download it and unzip when open click get the latest keys and then enter user name and pass and ip address and then click ''write file'' and finally 'ftp file to box'

restart after that and all done.

Have you turned off auto update?
What camd are you running?
Did you check to see if the SoftCam.key and Keylist.txt files had been replaced in /var/keys folder on the dbox?
Did you reboot after updating?
