Default need help with loading firmware

hi ive connect my box to my pc and on the Instructions on box.net tell me a need to have 0000 on the display screen but mine only had the word on does it matter what it does?

go to device manager and see what com port your serial adaptor is setup on mine is com 3

hi pal i had the same problem with the usb to serial cable on my laptop it just would not work . but i used the serial to serial cable on my work desktop and worked first time every time

dont wasit your time with the usb to serail cable it wont work !!!! just do it on any stand pc with serail to serial cable and i promiss you it will work

following on from this, downloaded ok, gone to re scan, done that but its not picking up channels and wont come out of "easy installation" menu, any ideas? I downloaded 28112008 bin file, should I have downloaded more files?

woops forget that post, hit the wrong frequency when scanning

all working fine now

did you get a cd for your serial adaptor if not you need to download drivers for serial adaptor
