that is pretty cool. use old parts for free,
im sure you can get plenty of old computers absolutely free that people would normally want to throw out.

you could get
-fan
-graphics card
-other cards
-hard drive
-motherboard

and other stuff like that you know, some stuff will take some upgrading though.

oh yeah, when i was in high school, we used to do this, of course these were really old machines then, and our fosiles now, but we used to goto the local computer stores, and rumage through the dumpsters, and take allthe stuff home, and most of the time, we had enough working parts to put together a working pc, and then we would sell it to one of the computer stores for a $100.
We did this twice a month, easy money, ah, i miss those days.

Cool Did you build your own computer?

I was wondering if anyone else did the same as me and built their own computer. I built mine from scratch because it's so much cheaper and you can't void the warranty if you open it up.

I have always built my own computer. (i.e. buying motherboard from another shop and hard disk from another whichever gives me cheap rate) and it is not hard to assemble.

I didn't build this computer. It's a premade Emachine... All I have done is add a few things to it such as a secondary harddrive, more ram, a new disk drive, etc.

I was commissioned to help some workmates build their PCs. Went to computer fairs, bought cases, motherboards, RAM, processors, Graphics cards, HDDs etc. then assembled parts into a PC. Took only a few hours.
