Default Lnb voltage

Hello

Please can somebody explain to me what decides the LNB voltage setting on a satellite meter? There are three settings on the meter I am about to purchase 13v – 18v - 22v
Any advice is much appreciated

Best regards

Steve

The 13v and 18v are for vertical and horizontal polarization switching for the LNB. Would suspect the 22 is hertz and not volts( but might be wrong?), for High and Low band switching.

Knowing the meter you are looking at would help.

Hello

The meter is a Satlook digital NIT Do I therefore set the meter to the voltage relevant to the polarization I am looking for?? The Lnb is a dual Invacom connected to a sky + pace box. (one month old and has broken down on the PVR side)
Many thanks

It looks like a nice meter. For dish alignment it doesn't really matter which polarization setting your on, but to view specific channels on specific frequencies look up the frequencies on the likes of KingOfSat - European Satellite Zapping & Directory or LyngSat - Lyngemark Satellite for the channels you want. Example BBC1 London is on frequency 10.773 polarization H on Astra2 and away you go. By the way the SKY+ won't be much use to view other satellites. Don't be afraid to mess about a bit with it when you have the time, these machines are usually very robust, you would have to be trying to break them to do any damage, in my experience.

Hope this helps a little.
