Cable voltage is in the mV range (1000ths of a volt). More likely you're feeling the voltage difference between the 'floating ground' of your STB box's chassis and true ground (the outer section of the cable feed).
You'll notice your STB doesn't have a ground pin in the power flex, just live+neutral. This allows for the zap when you bridge the difference with your limbs. To avoid - just screw the cable feed in before you plug your STB into mains. Cheers, Fitz |
