Default Newbie question about Starview / TheBox

Hi all,

First, thanks to everyone for the information on this site. I think I've finally got my head around what is going on. Correct me if I'm wrong but is the current firmware no longer auto updating and we're all having to enter the codes manually?

I just have a simple question about the model I am using. Mine just says THEBOX as the model number. Is this the same as a Starview 1? I just want to know which firmware I should be using but it's kinda tricky when I'm not sure of the model I should be looking for

Thanks!

Mine doesn't say anything like "super". Is there a THEBOX and THEBOX SUPER? Am I assuming mine is a Starview 3 ?

My versions are as follows :-

Boot ver 7.0

Okay, so from the sounds of that, I have either a starview 2 or starview 3. I'm now assuming it's a starview 2 since it doesn't say "super" anywhere?

That's that settled then, thanks

All I've got to do is wait for the new firmware to be released. Out of curiosity, does anyone how the firmware is coded? Like what programming language? Just interested in how it works, being a programmer already.
