Red face Almost embarrassed to ask, viral mail, or genuine threat?

Evening.

First off thanks to those involved in rolling out new keys and everyone posting advice over the last couple of days.

I’ve just received my second text message saying:

“Unplug your box first thing in the morning and leave off till tea time v*rg*n sending virus down cable to kill boxes, pass this in to other people.”

I’m willing to put this down to viral messaging, but seeing as I have no knowledge of how cable boxes work I thought is best to ask around before I start telling people its ok.

So what’s the general consensus?

(Facts would be appreciated rather opinions, or people “willing to bet”)

Cheers...........

Thanks for the informative post!

If you backed up the “lol please” theory with some facts about why this is not possible you could kill the thread dead and we’d all go home happy, well I would anyway.

I don’t mean to come across as an a***hole (which is hard in text) I just believe if you know the answer, which you probably do, it would be easier just to put the issue to rest.

Cheers……..

Rubbish I'd say! You CANNOT programme or access machine code on the flash through the signal line. I'm nearly sure of it.
