Default Spare Sky boxes

I got a few spare Sky boxes and was wondering if there was anything i could use them for? Maybe some way of flashing it to run linux or some other software altogether? If not what else can they be used for (other than foot rests which they are right now)

No theres nothing you can run on them except Sky's own software.

If you have no use for them give them to your local Freecycle group.

I've heard a rumour that a russian fella in Ireland is able to load linux on some of the sky boxes but is hard to believe and there's no information anywhere at all. It's probably just a rumour.

I would not mind having a couple of spare ones if they are working.

They can be used to open doors or to prevent important papers from blowing away.

Seriously, the best use I have in mind is to use in a separate room on a FTA channel as I have a quad LNB.
