I would strongly advise against any kind of post count before you get access to things - all you end up with is 5 or 6 meaningless posts ("I agree", "Yeah, me too", "Interesting") just to get your post count up! My view is that you should post only when you've got something to say, so someone with 2 months membership and 3 posts will get a lot more respect from me than someone with 2 days membership and 90 posts.

I'd suggest having anyone able to view the info on the forum as this helps keep us all honest and Techwatch out of legal trouble. I would also suggest having new members not able to post or PM until 24 hours after they register. That way people are able to read and find the solutions to their problems and if it's still giving you grief the next day then it's probably worth posting. It should also stop the idiots who just want spoon feeding as they won't be happy to wait and will go elsewhere.

Just throwing my opinion in for what it's worth.

I agree, and I was the first one who voted for the free to anyone option, partly for that reason.

Something I have seen on other forums is that you can't see any attachemnts like jpgs or whatever unless you register, I don't think that it is implemented here, but is a good idea as it limits bandwidth wastage to non-members.

Not being able to post for 24 hours though, might nark new members off a little, and they would go elsewhere.

Actually, it would be a good idea, just for the cable section. ( as that is where most of the problems lie, during key rolls)

Yes we give infraction or ban if need to, i quite like that first 24hr idea, that might stop the leechers, or encourage more to read some info.

Yes, it is implemented here, but you usually get a warning first.

You should do a post count, and a vip section and a period of time you have to be a member section, if people need help then others on here will help but not spoonfeed i think they are all goood ideas and all should be implemented. Or just take away the guest bit and make it members only
