Default Initial scan file linux

I have just bought a technotrend C-1500 and now I'd like to get it set up in Linux. Does anyone have an example dvb scan initial scan file to scan every frequency or one to scan for every VM channel? I've tried w_scan but it doesn't seem to work with my card. Thanks.

I take it you are trying to create a channels.conf file. If you haven't already done so, install dvb-utils and possibly dvbstream. In the /usr/share/doc/dvb-utils/examples/scan/dvb-c directory you should then find some example cable tuning files for other systems. You need to create a cable conf file for your own cable system. If you look at one of the examples, the format should be fairly obvious. Once you've done that, as root: 1. Create a directory /root/.czap 2. scan /usr/share/doc/dvb-utils/examples/scan/dvb-c/"your cable conf file name" > /root/.czap/channels.conf

Yes I could work out the format but i'd still have to enter all the frequencies manually, which I'd rather have as the last resort. Has nobody got a file for Telewest? Thanks again

Thanks a lot, you'd think there was more about this on the internet. Btw did you type/generate this up yourself or did you get it from somewhere else? Thanks again, it's scanning now .

I typed it to suit my area. You may have some transponders which fall outside the range of my file. BTW I found w_scan hopeless for UK DVB-C. Judging by it's output, it doesn't seem to find the required frequencies. scan from dvb-utils should work fine anyway.
