Must admit its a pretty disgraceful stance they have taken. I have just checked their website and absolutely nothing has changed. 2.5% might add up to a few pence individually on each customers purchase but add all those individual few pence's up and it soon turns in to a nice fat profit for the greedy gits.
Its a shame because i was about to spend a few quid with them on a motherboard and processor bundle to build a new pc but they can poke it up their proverbial **** now. I have sent an email to their customer services to ask why they have taken this stance, i will let you know if i get a reply though im not gonna hold my breath.
Pity there is not a website around to name and shame these greedy companies.

For sat stuff maplins is the last place id go, youll get everything cheaper elsewhere. Forget the 2 1/2% ,they,re 30% dearer

Had a phone call from a Maplins customer care person this afternoon,
can I help she said, I am waiting for the call from one of your Managers
said I, Oh they are so busy, I am sorry no one as phoned.

Has your problem been sorted out, I understand it is to do with the reduction in vat, correct, I have a message from the board, it states
that all goods will remain at pre budget prices, due to the small amounts
involved, although vat is reduced to 15%, the retail prices remain, she agreed Maplin have hiked up all their prices to match the reduction in vat
but she said that is a board decision. My answer never again at Maplin.
I asked her have you had many calls over this,she said I am not the first
to complain.
