Default dbox 2 flashing rs232

Hello , is there anyway dboxes can be flashed , using a rs232 cable , as i noticed it has the port on the back ? if so how would it work , as i have never flashed a dbox before , ive only done eurovox's. hope to hear from you all . SattelitesMania

You need to make sure that you have a 'null modem' cable and not a standard serial cable!!



1. Get the most current 'Flashing assistant' from http://www.dboxservice-hallenberg.de/freedownloads.php

2. Dbox2 works on 10/half, so set your PC Network card to 10/half or AUTO (preferred).

3. Set a Static IP to the PC network card - NOTE: You can't ping the dbox cos it has no IP and it'll be switched off !!

4. Make sure you have the correct image - eg 1 chip or 2.

5. Use a Crossover lead (Direct connection to Dbox) and Null modem lead (preferred, as you can view the the console in Windows).

6. STOP/DISABLE all firewalls !!!!!!!

7. Start the application, point it to the image and follow the instructions.

Now there should be no reason why it won't work....

nope eurovox is just rs232 , one end in the box , other in the pc , and that is it you flash it .
