GuidePlus G-Link / Infra Red control of Eurovox

Hi,

Anyone had any success hooking up a Eurovox (Ex 1000 SL) to a Guide-Plus enabled DVD/HDD recorded?

I've got a Sony recorder with the GuidePlus EPG and Recording system, with a remote infra-red controller ("G-Link"). But it does not appear to support Eurovox boxes... Which alas means it can't change channel on the Eurovox....

Any ideas?

Sounds like you need a new remote for the Eurovox.

Sorry I was not clear - I have a perfectly working remote for the Eurovox, but my DVD recorder can not change channel on it - so it can't do planned recordings automatically...

I have a dvd-Philips-hardrive-recorder using the guideplus+ g-link ect,i used it with my pace box,it was good stuff. Unfortunately i dont see any of these companys supporting a eurovox type box.

Yes think you are right. They support hundreds of random boxes by the looks of it - I was hoping the Eurovox might be compatible with one of them. Shame.

there probably is a way but it would take some work as the dvd-recorded would need to know exactly where you stored each channel on the eurovox before it could change it. would be good though

I'm sure I've seen a post before of someone who set something up by changing all his channel numbers to match Virgin or something but not sure...

Will it not work if you set up the recorder to record,then set up the timer in the Eurovox for the program you want to record it will then change the channel on the Eurovox automatically when the time comes,thats how I do it ...

yea that would work mate but the whole point is to make things easier using the g-link. The guideplus updates itself with the same epg information as the cable receiver(If it supports it),this means at the touch of a button you can set up a timed recording using the dvd recorder only,the g-link/red eye(What ever its called,lol) can then change the channle on the cable receiver... confussing myself there,lol,hopefully you get my drift

& the guideplus downloads its ifo through terrestrial or analog tv channel 'ITV'.
May be it works through digital now?
