sat line amp

I have just tried a line amp I obtained a couple of years ago, it is a french I thionk metonic 20db lift.

The wiring run is about 50 to 60 meters max, I inserted the amp a foot from the lnb, I use a Camag silvercrest(five yrs old) 80 cm dish and a chinese lnb that is supposed to be 0.1 noise(its red faced with a green barrel).

Anyhow, under normal conditions clear sky etc, On astra 28, say
HTV or sky news I get 100% quality, around 95% signal.
With the amp I get 99% signal but the quality is now 75%, taken only from the comag brain, I dont see any diff in picture condition.

Any opinion why the quality would drop, I remove the amp and its back to
100% quality and 95% signal.


Out of interest, I have no meter except a sat finder with a needle, in place of one that lights up, very primative that is

amp dont work you need a very very long cable run a waste of time full stop
