Can I reset this box without removing the 512 chip so that I can reset the Net ID? I am not very good at soldering you see and I don't want to mess this up as I know these boxes are expensive.

you could try an atmega net id but i doubt it will work. where is it from? do you not want to sell it?

I have a funcard coming which I will try. It came from somewhere in Yorkshire and I am in Lancashire near Burnley. I don't want to sell it as I have only just got it

yeah, i know your in burnley mate. funcard no good, gots to be atmega. even if you can get into eng menu.

can you get into eng menu btw?

I can get into the engineer's menu yes. How come Funcards won't work? I don't want to spend £8 odd one on (that's the price on eBay) just to set the Net ID. Do you know where I could loan one or buy one cheap?

If your not in pure i doubt whether it will set without lifting chip, there is a small chance it might be set to your net id already if you got it locally.

The Net ID is different. It is the black one. It also has a 160GB hard drive if that means anything?

if you check the net id against the table of them all you should be able to determine what area it came from. if its come from tw, my guesses are that your going to have to lift the chip.

I can't find it in the table. It says 40962.
