Had the same problem with vista using usb serial adapter , decided to buy pci serial port still no result on vista (no port available). eventually gave up and used a laptop with win xp sorted no problem. Windows Vista is a Pain

Guys....
I have a USB to Serial adaptor (edgeport/1) which when connected to Vista is not working. In device manager i cud see that the COM port 4 is used for this Edgeport/1 device...driver is also fine..i belive some settings in Vista need to be changed for make this working..Can anyone help regarding this issue ??? for ex : wen i am using Relfection software to select COM port i could not see COM4 in it....and from Device manager i cud see COM4 is used for this convertor ![]() Thanks in advance!!
