Look right if your having problems why don't you try it out, I had problems like you before and I solved the problem by experimenting with my box and you never know it may just work.

Whoa, bloody hell. why the squabbling?

if i wanted to blindly stumble through doing a powerscan then i would not have bothered to ask for help here. But since i wanted it doing properly, i thought id simply ask for directions here. I thought i would get one response saying this is what you do for your max v step by step...job done.

I have conflicting advice and there is NO sticky or guide for powerscanning.

I will have to try doing it as best i can. But can SOMEBODY simply tell me what to once once that list comes up once the scan is over? Which do i select?

hi nothing is wrong with basic advice but Ronsters Guide in Eurovox stickies covers evey detail, problem,faq, and related issues thoroughly. just easier than giving snippets of slightly incomplete info thats all.

What new question? The list question? Im no expert, all i meant is that i know enough to get the powerscan moving and finish but once it has on my Max V, a screen appears with a list of about 32 transponders (i think) with frequencies on there( i think) and i just wondered if anyone knew enough of what the hell i was tlaking about to guide me to select the right one from the list? Thats all!

Ok, one last throw of the dice.

After stumbling through a powerscan, what i should of said first of all is what Channel number do i perform the scan on?

When i access the user instillation menu i get a list of 30-32 channels with 4 sections-

Channel number/ Frequency/ Symbol rate/ Modulator.

I GUESSED on starting the scan on channel number 2 as that was the best signal. (Channel one was flucuating between 8 and 15%) and after the powerscan had finished it then returned to the same screen- user instillation and list of channels.

I clicked ok on channel 2 and got the message on ALL channels- channel is currently unavailable.

Returned to user instillation screen and hit update channels (red) whilst gasping with fear and the channels then returned after the scan.

What am i doing wrong as to the channels are not appearing AFTER a powerscan automatically? And what is the correct channel to perform a scan on?

Mav V 08. N*L area. Oct 07 firware if that makes a difference.
