How To Do A 100% Powerscan - Max V?

Could somebody give me a quick step by step guide how to perform a quick powerscan on the max V 2008?

The last one i did resulted in me losing about 10 channels including fx, racing Uk and a few others.

I accessed the instillation mode, entering the code 0000, hit powerscan, waited till it was done and then nothing happend a screen with a list of 32 transponders came up (?) and i hit ok and there was no channels! So i got back to the list and hit god know swhat buttons in a panic and my channels came back but id lost about 50-60 of them. Mostly copies or dead channels but also like i said about 10 normal channels.

So how do i do a powescan from scratch? Shall i also take it i need to unsplit my connection and scan whist one direct connection only?

read the postings, and learn patience, once u starta p scan, let it runn its full course, if u have weak signal then deep scan option now available but even more patience reqd.

Press menu/Installation/User Installation/Press the yellow button on the remote then press the OK button.

Remember to Clear Data (Erase channels and symbolrate 1)

Oh yeah once you deleted all channels take out the plug of your box for 5 secs, put it back in then start the scan.

Im-in- i was with you up until the erase channels bit. How do you erase channels. I have the old Oct 07 firmware on there (no lectures please!)
do i need to back up a channel list or something?

And what is a symolrate and what do i do with that?

Go to menu/config/clear data/erase all channels then go to factory default and press OK and reset the first symbolrate (there should be only 2).

Then take out the plug for five secs and rescan.

Not sure if 2007 firmwares effects the menu layout.

Once the powerscan finishes and that list appears , i cant recall what it was but i think it had about 30-32 in a list, what do i do?

Conflicting comments on IF i need to delete the channels first?
