This is something interesting which I think would help a few people, including myself.

Just because Thor/Intelsat is on 1W, does not mean that oyu point your dish due south and then move it 1 degree to the West.

I stumbled across a website a few months back that used windows live maps/google maps and allowed you to input your postcode and select a satellite. It then drew a line from your postcode indicating where to point your dish. Does anyone know what site this was?

Also, how do we find out where we are located (ie: wez says he is 9.621 West). My postcode starts SS14 - do i have to find the long/lat for it or something?

Many thanks.

If you use dishpointer then you need to enter street and town/city to find your long. and lat.

But it isn't country constrained - I tried it for a house in Spain with success

No. It says on the website - "UK postcodes are truncated by Google. Enter streetname and house number to pinpoint your location."
