1000b running OLD software

hey guys, was tiding up the other day found an old 1000b NTL box now the problem is im in TW land and after looking in the eng menu can see at one point it has run here. Now must be a long time since it went online as it says NTL old style, tryed to force an update it but get tuned for NIT then Not Fot This hardware software on the box is CR2.#
Would it be as simple as going to a NTL area force an update there then come home and update it here? Or is there another way?

open the box and see if theres any wires on it.

yeah looked at that m8 see no wires under the board or wires to the batt, your thinking no update mod I take it

yeah. ive seen a couple that i've bought at card boots. it looks like its trying to update but the area your in doesn'ty recogniose that soft on the box so it doesn't know what new soft to send it.
you could try going back to TW and forcing it to update.... i wouldnt go miles out of your way thou.
what area are you in?

Im guessing its ex c/w as thats the next nearest area to me (leeds) but deffo been running in TW can tell by net id and freq

so have you sent netid to yours? whats the result when you do that?

if it boots and shows chans. check the movie chans, make sure audio description isnt stuck on.

so what i have done... messed about with it hours then tryed the old red jumper left it off overnight got up let it boot, boots to the OLD NTL with purple behind it get channel number no epg, so set netid with libby reset pass and freq then into eng menu checked it all again rebooted with power button pressed OKAY then the old 4321 trick and says NOT for this hardware few other bits then reboots
