Default A few simple questions about the Nintendo DS

Sorry guys, usually I look around for information on forums, but I don't know the 1st thing about these buggers!
Basically, my niece has been nagging me to buy her a DS for a while now, and finally I have decided to buy her one in the next few days.
I just want to know, what I would need to do in order for the DS to be capable of erm.....playing back-ups.
Do I need to get it modified(chipped) as you did with the the Playstation's?
Or is it just a case of buying a memory card and copying the roms onto there?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Yes mate it's really that easy, there are more expensive game cards out there but the edge does the job just fine plays all backups, with the micro sd card you can fit about 18 games on a 1gig card

Yeah that will do the trick you could hold a shed load of games on there probably about 80, if you have access to a torrent site let me know and i will let you know some sites to get roms from (for back ups of coarse )
