Hi all,

This my first post after joining Techwatch last weekend so be gentle with me!

I just wanted to ask whether the ex1000sl has clone models on the market because i bought the box from dvbjunkie who maintain that all there boxes are genuine before i flash it?

It is just typical that i have received it just as VM do an upgrade as now i will have to flash my box for the first time. I suppose it shall be practice for me?? at least i do not need to do a channel backup i suppose?

Any help is much apreciated.

There is no guide to tell a genuine from a clone for your box im afraid.
If dvbjunkie assure its not a clone flash it,if it goes tits up send it back.

If I'd just bought the box. I would see if he would flash the box himself for free, and you just pay the postage both ways. That's if your having trouble doing it yourself.

Thanks for this - I too have this box (bought approx a month ago from lincsat) - but need to ascertain if it is safe to update the new firmware.

If DVBJunkie say the box is kosher, then you can take it that the box is kosher.

I've found them to be 100% reliable and to offer the best after sales service bar non.

And no I don't work for them I'm just a punter like most here

Hi i got 3 of the Ex1000sl boxes for friends last week off my local supplier and they have all flashed fine. As far as im aware there or no clones of this box out there yet.
