Is it yet possible to transfer recordings from the hdd onto a pc. Any idea of how this is done or if it will be possible soon?

I just had the sam equestion...

Is the Rs232 for firmware updates only? Or can it access the HDD?

Is there an IDE HDD to USB conector to plug into my laptop?

Thanks in advance if someone posts the answers!

(PS, download done and all ok after the other week - Just make sure you back up your channels beforehand! - Also once done download channels and do a channel update instead of full scan)

Yes you can connect the HD to a pc but your pc will just want to format it as it can not recognise the files. So in short No way.

Have ya tried it, do you know for sure.. ? I know Sly+ boxes have a proprietary file system on the HDD, but do these dodgey boxes do the same, I cant see why they would need to, I would have thought they'd be using good old FAT or summat..

My Laptop is a 60 gb IDE and a bit old in the tooth now, what are your thoughts on me swapping it with the 120 gb in the Eurovox?

I'd save a few pennies and be recycling all at the same time...
