Default JTAG Nightmare

Hi Guys

Please someone help me escape from this JTAG nightmare.
Been a very long time since I have jtagged anything and since that time I have myself a shiny new computer . Unfortunatley things have moved on and it doesnt have parralel or serial ports SO I bought myself a PCI card with all of the above . I have installed the drivers but just get nothing.

In ocd commander I am just getting internal error 43. I tried bke and get the same follwed by target communications error . I am pretty sure it is to do with the PCI card but am just going round in circles now . Have read about changes to some setting in the bios but there arnt any I can see in my bios is this because it is an add on .

I am useing XP trying to do a 4000 . I have set plug and play in the device manager resoldered the points 3 times. Tried bootin the box in the eng menu and not . Only thing I havent tried is with the cable feed in but as far as Im aware it shouldent need it .

Any help greatly appreiciated

Thanks in advance

I would have a quick look in device manager that the LPT port has installed correctly and that you do not have 2 ports (some motherboards have internal header connections for LPT & Com ports if if not fitted) if you do have two ports shown try selecting LPT2 in OCD settings

Also 3 ports show up in device manager. Parallel lpt3 , serial port com10 and serial port com9 . If that means anything.

You will need to set OCD to use LPT3 or it will try to connect to LPT1 which you dont have

The only other thing i can think of is to open LPT3 in device manager and in port settings make sure that use interrupt is selected. Also does the card have a jumper for ECP/SPP on it if so try both settings.

When you have port set right, in bke click on tools> j tag > j tag driver and drvr load should appear, click on folder and load and set running mac mot, if you just plug box in with no cable and wait nit should come up.
If mac is missing from your app its in downloads.
