Default Help on flashing & cdf files??

hi,
hopefully someone will be able to answer a few questions that i have. I have a eurovox v black, i know from previous experience that if i flash it i will loose all my channels that are sorted (from what i can work out is the cdf file). Now would it be better for me to backup my channels listing (cdf??) then flash the latest frimware onto the box, then flash back the cdf file for all my channels, will this also mean that i wont have to do a power scan after flashing the firmware?? also can i add a couple of channels manually as vm had some s k y channels missing but are now back?? is this possible , thanks in advance.

ditto above.

The cdf (I presume channel data file) will keep your listings and frequencies so no need to do a powerscan.
To add channel manually, enter the frequency number and scan only that frequency, they usually apear at the bottom of your channel list
