Confused!

Hi,please dont think i haven't tried to search for a simple solution but i am very confused.I currently have a nokia dbox2 wich i can flash and fix the AU problem fine.The thing is is that a friend of mine has a starview eurovox box wich they have asked me to try and fix the update.I dont know the first thing about these boxes so can anyone please send me a simple tutorial?How do i connect to the box?by network cable like the dbox or is there another way?
Sorry if this sounds like everybodys question but i have trawled the forum but just got confused.

Starview and Eurovox are different boxes I think?

Starview (at least the older models) use a null modem cable (9 pin serial), the newer ones can be updated by USB

and if its a starview 1 or 2 dont think your get it working again..
dont think there will be updates for older starview.
which in my view they have ripped people off

If it`s a starview 1,you can still keep it running but you just have to keep manually updating the codes when they change as there is no fix available for starview 1,get the codes from keymaster on the chatterbox toolbar,then on the receiver
press menu-1570-nagravision-then go to relevent provider,ntl,c&w,tw(use the arrow buttons to navigate)then manualy enter the codes from keymaster(remember to save changes using ok button)exit,then check if emu is set to on,exit,go to encrypted channel and it should come back on.
