r. bate guide to cloned boxes please help

have a euro max v opened it up to av a look to see if it was cloned or not

it has 8 slots at cable input
no ribbon cable it has stranded cable
it has red paint over motherboard screws
no green capacitors they are black

however it has

silver scart housing
silver tuner does not run the length of board


is this box a clone and if so where can i get the clone friendly firmware

I have also seen a max v clone with no board reset button and a metal heatsink over the processor, so it seems like there is more than 1 clone manufacturer.
