How far can you run a monitor cable before you run into problems,and how far can you run usb?

If this is a "standard" type VGA lead then a max. of around 3m seems to be the accepted norm. The maximum length of a standard USB cable is 5.0 metres (16.4 ft).( according to the WIKI / Docs )
