Hi, Guys.
Has anybody actually got a working box at the moment? I have a Eurovox EX5000, and have flashed it with the latest software released on 1/12/2008 downloaded from the chatterbox toolbar. Have spent hours in here looking through all the recent posts and have tried most of the suggestions i have seen but still getting 'please wait, code being updated'. The software downloaded to the box successfully on Monday 1st and all channels worked ok but when i came home from work on Tuesday, same code! The emu is enabled in the 1968 menu and have reinstalled the software twice since, both times leaving it on Sky sports 1 for ages but just getting the code all the time. Unable to get any keys from the chatterbox toolbar at the moment. Anyone let me know if you have an EX5000 with working channels and let me know how youre getting them

A friend of mine had a similar problem to yours and he put in new keys and he was sorted.

Hi,
I have never updated the firmware of my Eurovox EX5000 PVR and unfortuntately only had it a week before the firmware became outdated. Can I just confirm that I am going to update this properly. 1) Once I have connected my Eurovox to my PC then I double click on the icon that looks like a small PC to Eurovox. 2) I then click the smaller “UPLOAD” button to upload my channel list onto my PC for safe-keeping. What does this file look like ? 3) I then click on the larger “DOWNLOAD” button to download the new firmware onto my box. Do I have to delete the existing firmware from my Eurovox first, before carrying out this procedure or does the download automatically over-write any existing out-of-date firmware already on the box ? 4) Once this has been done, I then browse my PC to find the file containing the previously downloaded channel list. Once found, I then download this back onto my Eurovox. I hope I have got this about right. Many thanks for any advice. |

Sounds about right. The file of your channels will need saving on your hard drive as a .cdf file. The file will have an icon that looks like a staellite dish (of all things). Clicking on the large download button will update your Eurovox with the new Firmware. This is an overwriting file, meaning it will delete the old one as it installs the new one. It takes about 2 and a half to 3 minutes to update, then will show a successful message. If you browse to your file you saved then if you want to, you can edit it with the button at the bottom of the program. You can change favourites, categories and various other things before downloading it back to your Eurovox. If it's a well sorted and ordered cdf file there's a sticky on the main page here where you can upload it for others to use. Hope that helps.

Hi,
Thanks for your quick reply. Just one other thing, is the channel list already a .cdf file on the Eurovox or do I have to save it as such, when uploading to my PC. Thanks again, |
