Default Ok get your heads around this one! Im baffled. Please please help!

Ok where do I start?!

I am in b*lf*st and I have a black Max V 2008. The box was working perfectly with the April firmware until, obviously, the new scrambling crap from V**g*n! The bastardo's!

I put the new November firmware on my cousins black max v and presto! It works like a charm! Uploaded his cdf and everything works perfectly as soon as its connected up and turned back on!

I put the new firmware on mine, upload my cdf and his cdf at different times to test them using v*xer and it works without any problems whatsoever (this is only the flashing process when box is connected to the computer using the null modem cable). I then hook the coax cable and scart to it, turn it back on and what do I have on every single screen? Nothing, Zilch! Nothing but a big black screen with the words "NO SIGNAL"

I load the old april firmware back on, upload my cdf, hook it all back up again and bingo! the channels are back apart from the scrambled ones offcourse whereby it says "PLEASE WAIT CODE UPDATING". Offcourse this isnt gonna happen coz I need the new firmware installed on the box.

I go back to the drawing board and install the new firmware after resetting the box to factory default, upload the cdf and back to square one "NO SIGNAL"

I have tried this I think about a thousand times. Im ready to get the sledge hammer out! I have even re-sorted my favourites and channel order and saved and uploaded the new cdf incase the other cdf became corrupted or something even thought this isnt the case because it works fine with the old firmware.

My box just doesnt seem to like the new firmware and it is definitely not a clone.

Somebody please help. Super dooper moderators and senior members who know a lot about these things please rescue a lost sheep before I throw the rope up. Please please please, pretty please.

Everything is 100% connected properly and it is definitely not my feed because my cousins box worked in my house and his house.

HELP!!! PLEASE ANYONE OUT THERE!

I assume you have tried a full powe scan with the settings from your area rather then putting a CDF right on. After the scan is complete you should have all your channels then upload the CDF without reflashing the firmware ofcourse. I had to do this with one of my boxes, hit and miss solution though but worth a try.

Another thought, you may have a cloned box...

If I were in this situation I wouldnt be bothering about cdf's for some they cause problems, for others they dont ...just download the new firmware to the box and then do a power scan ...that should get you back up and working again ...

Sorry I forgot to mention that I have already tried a power scan and deep scan after I flashed the box with the new firmware and this is without uploading my cdf.

It doesnt pick up anything at all? Just scans through all the transponders without getting anything. Its really strange. The signal and strength seems to be quite low also.

I have got my box on a splitter with one cable running to the vm box also but this is never on so the cable isnt really split then is it?

Does anybody know whats going on? Im ready to give up

If its never on try running the feed directly into your box,if its no better it might be that there is some work going on in your area by your cable supplier......running the feed direct would also rule out the splitter being faulty ....

The funny thing is though that my cousins box worked fine through the splitter in my house straight after I put the new firmware on it for him

Hi

It may be cos some max v came out with weaker tuners, maybe you got one of them.
If sig is showing low, dont know if trying a booster might help.

Regards
