Thumbs up I've taken the plunge at last

Hi guys,

I've taken the plunge and ventured into the world of satellite at last. I've had the Technomate 6900 HD super delivered today and i am getting a 1m motorised dish fitted on Tuesday. The box will be patched along with a diablo card. Hopefully this will be enough to start me off and let me find my way around everything and get use to the box! I may have some stupid questions to ask over the coming weeks but hopefully some of you guys will be able to point me in the right direction as, from reading the posts, i know there are some very knowledgeable people on here.
I've got the setup mainly for premiership football for starters so advice on best channels/satellites would be great. I also wondered if anybody knew which was the best USB harddrive to add to the TM6900 (size/make), preferably black to match the box.

Thanks for taking the time to read all the waffle, i am getting excited about it now. Any advice/pitfalls to watch out for would be great.

Cheers guys

You ask the stupid questions and I will learn! only got mine few weeks ago but won't have the time to play till the holidays. Only have it on a multi switch to 28*.

I'm using the Western Digital 250 Gig HDD, as recommended by Technomate and it is available in black. So far no complaints with the setup, but as i've said haven't played with it much yet.

Thanks, i'll ask the questions. I've looked at other peoples questions & answers so it must be my turn to look like the village idiot

I'll have a look for that hard drive, it's powered just by USB isn't it so i won't have another plug? I'm not in too much of a rush for an hard drive at the moment so hopefully i should be able to get one at a good price over Christmas.....although i'm not sure how much they are so wouldn't know what a good price is

I'll let everybody know how i get on, hopefully i'll get to play with it next week but, like you, i'll get more chance over Christmas.

Thanks for the pointers Physcogem, looks like you're in my area too, N.E. Lincs coast.

The box looks really nice, got to wait until Tuesday when the dish gets fitted before i can start playing though. Got a sky dish up now so would be tempted to see what i can get with that but she's got a place in the sun type rubbish on........daren't tell her she's got no chance of seeing sun abroad next year now i've bought this stuff

Sanderson2, at least i'll be able to explain what i've done in complete numpty talk cause that'll be all i understand
