a litlle on help a lcd screens please

last month a relay switch failed on the power board .in my 40" samsung lcd .it was taking uo to 2 hours to power ,sometimes longer .

after searching around i got a price for a replacment board 225 quid .Then last weekend found some broken sets on ebay and some of the samsung models all use the same power board .
so i brought one yesterday went and picked it up last night and it only bloody worked

now i have a broken set left over ,which happens to be a 1080 set not the same as my 720 and also has 2 hdmi sockets(instead of my 1 only) also has a usb for watching films direct from memory stick .

Now here is my dilemma .
can i swap everything over from the broken set ie pcu board ,a board with a set of processers on it basically all the gubbins, as it will all fit in my frame ,as the screw holes and boards have all the same sockets .

or can i just take out my lcd 720 screen and place it in the 1080 case

.
im trying to find out if it is the lcd screen that makes the difference between 1080 or 720 , or its the 2 boards plus all chips and power supply . so if i tryed it .putting all the 1080 contents onto a 720 screen would it blow

i dont want to blow the screen up by trieng it ,i want to make sure first im not being a complete noob about it all .

You haven't given the model numbers for the 2 sets, but even so I would probably say no it won't work.
