Default Bummer

My main computer has gone down, terminal! I have a laptop which I am now using but there is no RS232 connection on it. I have been trying to use the usb to RS232 but it doesn't want to download the software to the box stating 'Update failed' I have checked the settings for the usb port and it is set to COM1 I have also set the Baud rate to 1152 I think that is what it states anyway. It is as if the signal wil not go down the cable? I had no problem updating from the old computer using the RS232 and this is the first time it has failed. Anyone got any suggestions?? I am stuck until I can get hold of another computer with a 232 port. Oh should mention it is Starview 3 the box super.

are you 100% sure the usb port you are using is com port 1?, if not try com2,3 etc.

A long delay, with no progress bar and "update failed" is a sign that the USB (or the update dropdown window) is not set to the correct com port

Check in device manager to see what com number is allocated to the USB.

Alternatively, IIRC, some serial adapters off the USB port don't work too well

I get the progress bar but nothing shows in it, after a short time it says update failed. I have checked the settings and it is set to COM1 port. ?
As an aside to this my friend took the box and flashed it on his computer with the RS232 and it updated but it is just showing a blank screen?
