OK so manually stopping it looks to have been a big mistake, turned it on again tonight, only lights on constantly are power and enet. if i connect to it via hyperterminal i see "BCM3349A010000001034689"

have i buggered it?
Can you suggest anything to try?

Normally in cases like this there is a 99% chance that the modem is indeed bricked. Try the console unlocker again and flashing the bootloader, as thats what corrupt on the modem. Try without the console unlocker too, see if SofJtag can get access without unlocking.

If not its highly likely the modem is a brick, dont fear too much though the Ambit 250/255 are always readily available off ebay, some preflashed and not too pricey.

I am willing to sell you one preflashed (PM me) however I will not configure it for you such as set the frequency, find and set a MAC etc. This goes to all who keep PM-ing me for modems!

I can connect to it via Max232 in the SofJtag but none of the options are highlighted so i can't do anything with it?

The console unlocker does nothing when i click execute.

It's going in the bin

1 attempt - 1 busted modem.

I've got an old Ambit 200 i might bust that one next.
