Cheers for that squire. Have you tried the firmware yet? For some reason I was having toubles with TBC.cc - thier forum - nothing seemed to happen when selecting the register link! Anyhow I think I have downloaded the correct files from the TBC.cc toolbar? PVR Loader v4.01 Jul 11 2007.exe & TheBoxPVR_v3105_08Dec2008.bin But having never attempted an update before and not wanting to mash my box up and being slightly lazy of course!.... I thought I would ask first - e.g. how or where a good guide might be? |

if its the null modem lead connect you box to PC via lead
turn box on and off with the mains power switch on the back of the box when the display reads ‘ on ’ on the front panel, Press ‘ OK- Exit- OK- Exit- OK- Exit ’ on your remote if you done it right ,it should say download on the front of the box , then it will change to one of these ‘B-30 or B-31’ which will mean its ready to download then you use the loader software just press download i set it to app file only not sure about that but it works for me ? then just click down load and it will do every thing its self its pretty slow compared to other box's Ive used so don't worry about that its quite normal to take a while after its installed on the box it will say its finished it should tell you it is been successful just wait for your box to reset its self before you turn it off that took a min or 2 on mine and that is it on the new firmware it different to the old one you don't need to use the secret menu to turn on the emu just go to system menu and at the bottom of the list just set "key code " to on and that turns it on for me no need to do the other way also on this firmware every time you put box on standby and turn it back on it does the initial set up menu again, just set language and exit menu , your channels are still there no need to rescan there is a way round this for some people ,it worked for me and others , i couldn't quite pinpoint what it was that did it , but now I'm pretty sure all you need to do is delete all rubbish the channels before bbc1 and set the "menu lock" to on which is above the "key code " one you should have already done and that should be you up and running again now if you need to know the usb way that I'm not sure aboutthat! but i think you need to have box hooked up to telly and to PC which could be awkward for some people . id have to look into that one! |
