freesat for s*y (4hd) & diablo cam

I stumbled upon something today regards 4 hd that it will work with an expired sky card(which i have) I am watching itv and bbc hd thru my mediacenter pc skystarhd2 which has a cam slot do diablos work with freesat for s*y ?? anyone?? thinking with this is that i could get 4hd on my set-up which you don't get with a native freesat set-up...

Yes an ex subs Sky card will get CH4 HD.

And yes a Diablo will read a Sky card, but will not kep it alive. You need a Sky digibox or Linux machine to do that.

do the freesat for sky cards need to be kept alive?
i suppose the best thing for me to do is get a diablo and try it....

Yes they do need to be kept alive, and the Diablo won't do it.
