Default Which modem shall I buy

I have an ambit 250 modem that is currently out of action due to Virgin
doing something to it.

I purchased the same type of modem again from ebay, but that also did
not work.

Could someone advise if their are other modems out there with different
software that will be protected from Virgin's new update that has crippled
my Ambit modem's??

All information can be found HERE

Basically on what is known as V-day VM changed the bootloader on all ambit 250/255 to stop people flashing them, the console unlcoker allows you to bypass this.

Thanks for that mate.

It's saying something about serial connection between modem and pc.

My modem doesn't have a serial port. It only has ethernet on one modem and ethernet & USB on the other spare modem.

You need a Max232 cable that connects to some pin headers inside the modems casing that then connects to a serial port on your computer allowing you to communicate with your modem.
