Hi, I bought 4 max v 2008 boxes from satandcable over the last few months, the first three worked fine and updated with no problems, however, the 4th box which i bought just before x mas wouldn't update at all even though i used the same fw and cable that i used for the other 3, whatever fw i used it always stayed on june 20th 2007 version, i spent about 20 hours trying to get it happening as it was present for my brother but to no avail. Over the past fortnight i have sent 5 emails with no reply ( maybe they're on holiday still), whenever i phone them, either it's engaged or it just rings out, I'm starting to get that "runaround" feeling. I'll keep you posted on how i get on. Any alternate ideas would be appreciated, it doesn't appear to be a clone (although it could be) and the flashing hasn't bricked it or changed it in any way. I'm going to start calling them " satan's cabal " if their customer sevices don't improve.

I have bought around 12 boxes from them, and after checking them against the Genuine photos on one of the other posts all mine are Clone boxes.
Although they did tell me they were genuine when i went and collected them from the Liverpool shop/unit. Pi$$ed off as they obviously duped me into buying them, 2 of the units do not now boot up after being reflashed recently with new software. I'll contact them Monday for a refund or drive down with them if i'm still unable to contact them by phone. |

Why anybody would want to chance buying a box off eBay I really don't know.
OK some might argue that it's mainly inexperienced / naive people just starting out who do so but surely even the most inexperienced person should do some research before making any such purchases and even a tiny bit of research on forums such as this should be enough to make one realise that eBay is a no no. |
