Just to clear a few things u i have assmbled it correctly scart is in the right place and remote is able to turn the box off and on...

Hi,

Can anyone advise on how to fix my problem in the original post?

Display on box says 'On' and i cannot get the GTROM uploader to connect to allow me to flash anything to it?

Using a null modem lead bought from maplin

your loading wrong firmware as to be 4.54, try that

I have tried to upload a number of different firmware version.


I have read posts advising to downgrade the firmware to v4.51 before upgrading.

Wont let me load any version of firmware at all. null modem cable is connect and the GTROM is v4.03?

Any help is appreciated.

take a look at thread(starview not booting after flash)there's a post on there by tvman which takes you from start to finish.
failing that try a different cable

my maplins cable did not work!!! make sure its a null modem cable, skywonder, £2.99, post free, 2 days delivery

i just sorted my m8s starview 2 which had 4.51 on it , i flashed 4.54 with app file ticked , then reboot it.then i flashed logo file with just background data file ticked , then rebbot it and finally flashed with 8.02 with app file ticked , then reboot . scanned for channels ,emu on and it worked fine , hope you get sorted .
