I want to purchase a Starview 4. Is there a reputable dealer anywhere near Nottingham that I can buy from? Do they come with instructions how to get it up and running on Virgin, if not how do I get them. Have read the forums and not being very tech minded do not understand the terminology, Would anyone be good enough to give me simple step by step instructions for a dummy please.

As I said not tech minded only found out a week ago that these type of boxes existed, at the moment have a chipped Virgin box which has died again. don"t even Know what sv2 update is. Came on here to ask for help. If not the Starview which box would you recommend please and advise me on installing and setting up?

All depends what you want.do you want record facilities etc.If not try kryptview mate.reasonable box,decent price,decent back up.try T.M.C you'll find him on here with a bit of searching or google.Personally i wouldn't spend a lot till the dust settles and the krypt is a reasonable allrounder(in my opinion)

i would just fix ma standard chiped box as there is lots of change coming soon and alot of boxes are not going to work no more

i would get a s/view again,no probs really in 9 months.this forum is the biz!! all info in here. try skywonder for all types of boxes and cables, super service...
if things change as honcho "suggests" you may lose £80, but whats the alternative? pay vermin or get a 2nd chipped box. as it happens, i,ve got both. saved a fortune....
